Hospitals are wonderfully complex and important places. They sustain and support the health and healing of our most fragile citizens. Successful medical facility designs address the needs of staff, patients, and patient's families, while coordinating the many interfaces between people, medical tasks, and equipment. Outpatient medical facilities have many of the same responsibilities as hospitals. They must provide environments to sooth anxious patients and stressed staff, and maximize the efficiency with which care is delivered. These facilities are also faced with greater challenges to minimize first cost, resulting in the need for accelerated construction schedules and creative design delivery solutions such as design/build. Cierra has provided electrical engineering and lighting design to major Puget Sound medical centers including Swedish, Overlake, Northwest Hospital, Virginia Mason, and Valley Medical Center.
